Thailand is a growing market for the cycling industry, as the cycling community there develops and evolves. Once a place where mountain bikes were the most popular, it now has a varied cycling scene, with road and gravel bikes also taking centre stage. That means that our Lake team in Thailand is increasing, in order to continue to serve the cycling community, and to wrap them in our legendary Lake cycling shoe comfort.

Jatupoom Lekawat joins the Lake Thailand team, from a long and varied career within the cycling sport industry and community. A former National Road Bike Champion, this exceptional cyclist still trains and rides 6 days a week. At his home in Bangkok, Jatupoom talks about the cycling scene in the evenings, riding with friends along the Sky-lane near to the airport. It’s his favourite ride and has an amazing atmosphere and camaraderie.

Driving forward, focused on excellence

Not coming from a cycling family, Jatupoom first got into the sport as a schoolboy, watching others riding mountain bikes, and convinced his family to get him a bike too. From then onwards, his focus was on riding faster and better, and he was soon racing. After his first race, he went away and told himself that ‘next year I can win’ and win he did! A coach, noticing his speed and power, advised him to convert to the road, and he went on to ride for the country and to win national titles too. It’s that focus on being the best and always improving is a perfect match with Jatupoom’s new position with Lake Cycling Sales, promoting sales and educating cyclists on how to find their own perfect fit and to maximise performance.

When comfort & performance equals success and smiles

Jatupoom started using Lake shoes for their comfort, having wide feet, like many in Thailand.
